The Statue of Liberty represents once upon a time in America when France and perhaps the world thought highly of us. What happened to us?

The words carved on the Statue of Liberty represented how America was perceived. How else do you explain the massive migrations from the many "old countries" to America? How else? Now no one wants to come here. There is nothing left of the country we used to be. Our of head of state is insuring that. The country doesn't want anyone here who "doesn't belong". No refugees. No immigrants. No specific religions. If  you "look" good enough to him he will allow you in.  We do not provide sanctuary to anyone. Our head of state has ruled sanctuary to be disgusting. He wants no part of it.  Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

    We are still accepting of immigrants. We believe they should come with our permission. Not just come and go as they wish. We expect immigrants to follow our laws, to learn our language, to work etc. Most immigrants do follow this but if they don't we also expect them will be deported or jailed...if they are a criminal.

    It's all about freedom. That is a word the media doesn't use anymore. Freedom is why your parents came here from the old country.  It's safer here also. But 'socialists' seem to wanna change things.  Ef that stuff!  America is the land of the free, not the land of political experimentation.  Yearning to be free!
