    I think there's a certain amount of lying, scheming and general chicanery required to be a politician on the big stage.

    Sadly I agree. If you don't lie/scheme/indulge in chicanery you aren't going to survive. The other vultures will descend on you and strip you to the bone. Thank you for your reply Spunky. Some of them are a lot more ballsy though. Lotsa chutzpah. Some are more subtle. I don't know which is worse. The results are the same. Thank you for your reply Spunky! :)
