I can't help but ask why was Macron still able to win with the Russians hacking his email?

Someone find Hillary for a response.

I don't think Macron came with as much baggage (if any at all) that Clinton did, so that when the Russkies tried to sideline him that much later in the run-up to the election, it was not effective.  There were other reasons why Clinton lost, too.  It wasn't just the Russians.  Comey didn't help her cause, but the real reason was that a lot of people didn't like her and yet, she did win the popular vote by quite a large margin.  I don't know if that was because voters actually wanted her to win or Trump to lose.  I doubt we'll ever know for sure.

They wanted Trump to lose. It was states with large immigrant populations she won. I like poking fun at lame excuses for not winning. This post was edited by O-uknow at May 8, 2017 10:25 PM MDT

Does it matter which states she won?

Methink so. All those millions came from open border states with interests in not seeing Trump elected. How can you win elections dismissing things that matter like what Hillary did her whole campaign.

Every state votes in what they believe are the best interests of that state.  If the more liberal states decide that Trump is too far to the right for them, then they voted for Clinton.  If I had a better candidate than Trump and I thought that candidate would be better for this country, I would have voted for them.  Unfortunately, there were two stinkers.

She wasn't taking those emails seriously was she? Now she is blaming her loss on them. Things matter.

  • Didn't he also have an affair? The French don't have that same sense of "moral outrage" that we pretend to have.

  • Macron was seduced by his teacher, now his wife, when he was 15 years old.  The age of consent in France is 15 unless it involves a teacher or a carer in which case it's 18 years old.  Macron's parents tried to get the affair stopped but stopped short of going to the police, if they had she would have been jailed as a pedophile.  She was in her thirties and married at the time she seduced a 15 year old child.  There would have been moral outrage at that which is probably why his parents didn't want the scandal.
