  • I'm a liberal that believes life begins at conception.  So, I guess it depends on what's going on when the pill hits.

I can tell by the use of "some folks" in the question, what your purpose is with it, but hey, that's what I think.

I can't make a blanket statement including everyone NHP. I ALWAYS use the modifier "some" because not everyone thinks the same. Those who do are part of the "some". Those who don't aren't. Thank you for your reply. I believe life begins at conception. So if you take birth control pills and don't conceive there is no conception.  Ergo birth control pills, morning after pills and abortion are not alike.

  • Almost,

Fertilization occurs in the fallopian tubes, then the egg gets implanted in the uterine wall.  One way the pill works is by irritating the said wall, preventing implantation. So, if you believe life starts at fertilization, there may be a little issue there.  No?

I am not familiar with HOW birth control pills work NHP. "Irritating the wall"? Since I am not a medical professional I can't really answer your question academically. However if implantion is prevented but the sperm/egg are not destroyed then I see no instrument of death in the use of birth control pills. If you do I certainly respect that view. You can't kill that which isn't there. If the environment is hostile  implantation cannot occur. Thank  you for the explanation and Happy Saturday to thee NHP! :)
