Ever keep the packaging and ignore/discard the content? What possible motive could there be for doing that?

  • Sounds like my cat. She would rather play with the box or bag her toy came in instead of the actual toy.

You threw away the contents Thriftymaid? Seriously?  Years ago when we used to shop at Sam's Club we bought biscotti which came in lovely see-through glass apothecary jars. Now I did buy them for the jars to be honest with you because I wanted to use them for things like flour, sugar, pasta, tea, rice, etcetera. But we enjoyed eating the biscotti as well. They hold up when you dunk them in coffee! They don't fall apart or get mushy. We still buy biscotti but it comes in boxes which I discard. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday to you! :)

I love glass jars...use few plastic items as possible.  The last time I purchased just for the jars the jars were very small and I wanted them for spices.  I bought a bundle of them and threw away the sugar crystals inside.  They haave cork tops and are perfect for spices and herbs.  I remember the biscotti at Sams but don't shop there so much now since kids are grown.

We don't either. When we lived in Riverside both Sam's Club and Costco were very close to us and we shopped there all the time. In Hemet we don't have them. The spice jars I would have loved too. I think I know the kinds of sugar crystals you refer too....different colors and larger crystals? I would have thrown them away as well. Sugar is not our friend no matter how pretty it is! Thank you for your reply Thriftymaid and Happy Friday! Geez that takes me back maybe 18 years!  Whoa! :)
