Yes, the majority of tildes are quite happy and surprisingly well-adjusted. 

Now that is funny, Randy!  Isn't it amazing how the English language is ever changing?  Way back in the day, I thought all languages were edged in stone, or the dictionary rather.  I later learned that all languages and definitions of words change on a regular basis
Communication and life was so much simpler back then!!
