    Theoretically, one might not know about another person's behavior patterns until or unless meeting that person and/or spending time face-to-face, such as on a first date. 
    I believe that's the type of situation Just Asking is referring to in her post   .

    I asked a bunch of questions surrounding a news story. The guy and girl were on a date. She started texting during a movie. He told her to stop (or made some kind of remark about how it was rude). She got up and left him there. He's actually suing her for the price of the movie ticket now.

    So, Randy D is right with his response.
