If you are a person who puts religion first and foremost ahead of everything and your religion vilified the LGBT community would you disown your child if he/she were gay? Or would you love your child?

Seems to me that disowning a loved one for being whom he/she is cannot be Christian. Having tolerance for differences and accepting people for whom they are seems more loving to me. I cannot conceive of anyone turning a loved one away because of his/her lifestyle. If it hurts no one and the people are good people why would you turn on  them?

Disown? No. But rules would be set.
If the children is gay then he will have to listen to the reasons why I disagree with it, then if s/he wants to keep dating members of the same gender, s/he would have to do it on their own house, when they become adults and actually know what they want.
But s/he would still be my son/daughter regardless of their sexual preference.

Thank you for your reply. Did it ever occur to you that YOUR child carries your DNA? You child is born of you and your partner and is not responsible for what you give him. He is a prisoner/victim. You deal the hand, He just plays it out . I wonder why unforgiving parents don't take responsibility for that? Do you wonder too? Thank you for your reply OW.

If i had a child and they where LGBT then i would give them the message of God and hope that they accept His Message and  believe Jesus and trust 100% in the Atonement of the Messiah Jesus and do their best to resist the sins inherent in the LGBT way of life..

Teenagers abandoned, or being told to change have been committing suicide as they felt left alone and not understood by their religious and prejudicial parents. We should love and support our children no matter what they are.

    If I?   MOOT question.

First of all your wording is so off the wall.  Why would "I" join any religion like that?

Number ONE.  I would never join any religion like that.  So the whole question is moot.

Number TWO.  If I did join a religion like that I would have to forsake my kid or my religion.  There is nothing else for it.

How about a question that allows one to objectively answer and  maybe leaving personal pronouns out of the mix?

I put God before everything, my kids too, and Jesus has told me to love everyone, so I love them no matter what!
