What is this "Boomerang" function on some of my emails?

Occasionally an email will have a sentence or a few words in red.  When I click it a window for the Boomerang opens.  Should one accept it?  What does it do?

  • I window opened that invited me to explore the site.  Seems like a potential scam so I closed it.
