When confronted with an AWFUL EVIL rather than dealing with it some cite what they think is MORE AWFUL EVIL. WHY?

When/HOW does one AWFUL EVIL become justified by citing another POTENTIAL BUT UNKNOWN AWFUL EVIL in any context/regard/comparison? Isn't that really ridiculously absurd? Besides which you make a choice. It is a disaster. You say that another choice would have been more disastrous. You cannot possibly know that. Yet some believe that what they don't know and never will but can only imagine definitely would be worse. Where does that kind of "thinking" originate? You can't know what you don't know and never will. You simply can't. Pretending you can/do doesn't make it so. Yet on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on they go..doing exactly that. Oy vey! :( What a revoltin' development! :(
