CD's, as in Certificates of Deposit?
Sure. I even remember paying over a grand for some of the first CD players smuggled in from "across the pond".
Do you remember cassettes? Let's not forget 8-track and 4-track cartridges. Maybe 1/4" tape on 7" open reels, 10-inch open reels, 14-inch open reels? (I'd ask about 1/2" open reel but that's a studio kind of thing.) How about vinyl records? Maybe lacquer (cut on your own Presto record lathe)? And let's not forget "wire".
