I think the WHITE HOUSE should succeed. That would be the only thing that could make a difference.  Since anything this PIG has in store is not going to ever succeed.

You definitely don't want the White House to succeed! Edit this post immediately, Sharona!

Hurry! Edit this post before Randy sees it. You mean secede, not succeed!

The only way it would change my life is that I'd suddenly have a desire to move to California! :)

This is a perfectly proper usage of the original  secede.    I looked it up.

....achieve the desired aim or result, take over a throne

good enough for me to get it.   Screw Randy.  This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at June 12, 2017 2:07 PM MDT

It's an entirely different word, with an entirely different definition.

If this is a major point to you, then take  it.

I think it is good enough to understand the meaning.   I know what secede means.  You DO NOT know all the meanings of succeed obviously.

Do you really want to argue semantics?

    LOL!

    It isn't, I do, and I don't.

My response was meant to be humorous, not condescending.

    Peace.

That is the definition I found and thought it appropriate, too.

It would probably mean that the fruits and vegetables that we get from California will cost more.  It would also tilt elections towards the GOP as California has a Democrat majority and a lot of Electoral College votes.  Offhand, I can't think of any other effect it would have on me.

  • You mean "secede"?

I am Californian, 5th generation, so it would affect me greatly. I am intensely loyal to my state and I would not leave even if we seceded, though it is not my personal wish. Seems to me like most of that rhetoric was born out of Trump hysteria that has since passed. But yes, the rest of the country can be prepared for much more expensive fruit and vegetable prices. We are America's breadbasket :)

No...CA is the country's fruit and veggie basket. The midwest plains States are the breadbasket.

  • Secession was tried once before.  It did not go well.  This Californian secession is just yapping.

Yes, by all means,,,,, bye bye now. I'll have to buy all of my lettuce and oranges from Florida growers............I can do that.  I do that now. This post was edited by Thriftymaid at June 12, 2017 2:12 PM MDT
