I love novelty ties. When I used to work in food service and the managers had to wear ties, that's pretty much all I wore. I had a huge collection. TV characters, holidays, butterflies, etc. They made having to wear a tie tolerable. Eventually, I learned that women could get away with scarves, so I switched to them... mostly abstract designs, rather than prints, but I still have a bunch of the old ties somewhere in the back of my closet.
I'm thinking about getting a piano tie. Like Hawaiian/ tropical shirts, the novelty ties are a bit 80's and 90's, but I hope they make a return again soon. Christmas ones are always "in" though, during the holidays.
Some of mine include: several Daffy Duck styles -- Daffy Duck is my MAN!! Favorite cartoon character! several "I Love Lucy" ties a Grinch Who Stole Christmas tie several Dr. Seuss ties and a Snoopy tie from "Peanuts" and I do have a piano keyboard tie, too -- it doesn't actually play or anything
But I don't enjoy wearing ties. :)

Well, they have their place on the tie shelf I suppose. The only ones I've ever really liked though had the intended message (so to speak) hidden among the print on the fabric.....like this golf club tie.
