Doctors perform life-saving surgery without which the patient would surely die. Lawyers can prepare a brilliant defense and save a client from a "guilty" verdict and/or the death penalty. Politicians can (according to how they vote) affect such things as healthcare, environmental regs and other such safety assurances governing food/drugs/cosmetics. They can also vote PRO business/stockbroker/banker interests at the expense of the people and minimize consumer safety protections while they assure the wealthy of their constant devotion. The poor don't concern them so they give "lip service" only because the poor are powerless/dollarless/meaningless to them. We assume doctors are of unassailable character and good will and want to help. Lawyers and politicians? Not so much. Lawyers can be shysters/ambulance chasers/mob-related thugs and Pols can be crooks without character/honor/decency and often are. Between lawyers and politicians which group do you trust more and why?
