What's a color you should never use to paint the outside of your house?

A light lime green...like our next door neighbors did.

Purple, particularly the shade that reminds me of that grape flavor Hubba Bubba gum tape. I remember when a church around here was painted that awful color with yellow trim and people kept complaining about it being too ugly, so they repainted it a nice beige.

Bright yellow or green.  I've seen houses painted with those colors, but I've never seen one that looks good.   This post was edited by SA (SuperA) at June 28, 2017 9:10 AM MDT

I do not believe there is a color that should never work.  Any color works depending on the place, time and circumstances.

A plaid house would look ludicrous in most settings, but could really look magnificent if placed just so in some place where it would draw attention.  (can't think of ANY at the moment LOL)

Same with colors.   If you have a nice, stately beige house that fits into a grouping, that looks just dandy.  If you take that same house and put it in Mexico, it would look like a funeral parlor.

    Different strokes for different creations.
