Yes, both back and front yards. My wife takes care of them. There is a wide variety of flowers, many of which I don't know what they are. I do have a small rose bush the blooms beautiful pink and white flowers. We have a large prickly pear cactus plant that blooms yellow roses. There are some marigolds, many hostas and varieties of lilly. We also have a small veggie garden. Oh...and I grow catnip for our cat.
We have flowers, flowering trees and flowering bushes all around our co-op development. We have lilac bushes, peonies, roses, daffodils, day lilies, irises, rhododendrons, hyacinths, hydrangeas - possibly more but I can't think of what they are right now.
We can't put anything on the fire escapes because it may block egress, but we do have about a 40 foot walkway into the entrance to our building. I have put flowers ibn planters along one side, but the sprinklers don't reach there and there is no water hose hookup which means I have to run up and down with a watering can to water them. I did that two summers in a row and didn't want to do it this year.
I have a garden of California native plants. Some of them have nice flowers, but I've never been too interested in growing plants just for flowers (since many of them are annuals and I can't be bothered with annuals). I do have a double delight rose, which has the most amazing rose scent in existence.
