I am in sales so I say please, thank you, sir, mame, etc all day long. I do continue that after work hours as well.
I find that if you are polite people will return politeness to you.

I use the all the time..

But some people these days see it as being akin to grovelling / begging..   It's not.. It is just being polite.. But some people will look at you with contempt if they hear you say it to another person..

I say "please' 'thank you" and "you're welcome numerous times a day.

I was taught these words by my parents, passed them down to my children. They have taught their children these same words. Even our great grand daughter says these words to us and they are said to her as well.

Although I still hear these words now, I don't hear them as often as I did before.

You are what you were taught, your politeness is a reflection of your parents and schooling it's that simple.

It's a shame but liberalism changed attitudes for the worse, it started in the mid sixties and is getting worse

           Liberalism is a mental illness..

I just call it being polite, I give P&T's more than I receive.

  • It might have been magic when you were growing up, it's nothing today. You make your demands and you expect results and compliance. . Put archaic manners in one hand and spit in the other and see what you have. Hands full of spit. People don't use that stuff, nor do they expect it. I'm glad we're moving past that foolishness.
