When I was still working we were always given a 4-5 day weekend over the 4th which would have been great except all the Finance and IT folks had to work anyway. The Founding Fathers weren't thinking about quarter-end when they decided what day to sign the Declaration of Independence. I guess none of them were accountants.

Pearl, we all know that you have problems not only with being hired in the first place but also remaining employed.

Employers want to know that an employee is a valuable addition to their company and are worth their investment in that employee.

When one seeking work has an employment history that includes a significant number of many jobs, potential employers will ask you about any volunteer work you have done to help them to evaluate your ability to contribute value to company.

Your "volunteer work" has been answering questions on AnswerMug.

Assume in your next job interview the potential employer asks you why any Question & Answer site that either exists or is about to come online would seek you out and ask you to become a member.

To do that and prove that you are worth hiring, review the types of answers that you are providing to AnswerMug and show how those answers of yours provide meaningful information to those who ask the questions you volunteer to answer.

And then ask yourself if you would hire you; and if you wouldn't, why wouldn't you---and then change what you need to change.

...., even if perhaps showing little insight into the issues.

(I apologize ahead of time for this, but I can't pass up sarcasm, even if it's undeserved)---"Must not be much excitement down under---either that or you don't get out much."

If I ever do need a "depends" to make my life better, I know where to get them.
