Apparently per the speechwriter Melania Trump admires Michelle Obama. When talking to the speechwriter she mentioned some of the phrases Michelle had used in speeches. The speechwriter says she thought they were Milania's own words so she incorporated them into the speech. She apologized and offered to resign . What happens next? Isn't it really awful that Melania admires Michelle Obama? How will they punish her for that?

The speaker is the scapegoat. The speaker said she THOUGHT those were Melinia's own words? HOW DID SHE GET THAT IDEA? Obviously they were not the speech writer's idea then if she THOUGHT they were Milenia's words. She had to have GOTTEN them FROM Trump's Tart.
Melinia does not ADMIRE anything Obama. Are you serious? Trump has downed the Obamas since before he even got elected. And Melinia does not have one original thought in her head. Anything her husband tells her is TRUTH. He pays the bills. He gave her this cushy lifestyle. I don't care if she was well-to-do before, she was not in the limelight. She was a nobody and Trump groomed her to be his arm candy.

In a statement, Meredith McIver said she had inserted passages into the Melania Trump speech that resembled parts of a 2008 speech by first lady Michelle Obama.
McIver said Melania Trump had read passages from Michelle Obama’s speech to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, when Barack Obama was in his first campaign for the presidency, over the phone to her as examples. McIver then wrote them down and later included some of the phrasing in a draft that became Melania Trump's speech.
McIver said in her statement that Michelle Obama is a person Melania Trump "has always liked.”
“I did not check Mrs. Obama’s speeches. This was my mistake and I feel terrible for the chaos I have caused Melania and the Trumps, as well as to Mrs. Obama. No harm was meant,” McIver said.
A sad turn of events. Sounds like it was a misunderstanding. Mrs Trump saying I want something like this and the writer not knowing it was a quote just inserted it. You would think a speech writer would know to use the plagarism tools that are available for schools and speeches.
If Melania knew how to read she would have noticed the , ehem, similarities.

The speech writer is a former ballerina I have heard and a long-time friend of Melania's. She should have known better. She should have spoken up immediately and not let Manafort say the ridiculous and untrue things he did. All the Trump campaign talking heads who insisted it wasn't plagiarism when it clearly was were insulting our intelligence. How stupid do they think we are? True. Melania should have read the speech and picked up on the identical phrases used and had the speech revised to eliminate them. But she didn't. I wonder why you are so hostile to her though? The family of a politician isn't running for the office so I don't see why anyone would attack any of them. They should be off limits in my opinion.
