Which is more damaging to the electorate? To have a leader who is overly confident or underly? What if leader is BOTH simultaneousy?

Arrogantly supercilious and deeply/utterly unsure of himself. A bad mix no matter how you look at it.

    I would say ... neither.

The "electorate" is vastly more damaged by its own actions.
EG: Voters who don't research issues and/or just vote "party line".
THEN we wind up with bad leaders.

Touche. I spend hours researching candidates each election cycle about whom I know nothing. In our local elections or statewide or national. I want to read about and understand their history, what they've accomplished so far. I wonder how many people actually do that? It was so much harder in the olden days  before computers/internet.  Now? Piece of cake though it is time-consuming. The internet holds much info. All you have to do is seek it which takes time of course. But you can do it at 3am if you want to do so. The internet is open 24/7 for your convenience!  Thank you for your reply  Walt and Happy Tuesday! :)

The vast majority of eligible Americans don't even vote.
Which is just plain depressing ... they have so little confidence in their own power, thanks to decades of media and politicians telling them they only have 2 choices.

Tell me about it. There isn't much that is required of citizens. Voting should be at the top of everyone's TO DO list but they are just too dam* lazy/uninterested. They show up for prez elections sometimes because they are LOYAL to the party dogma but that's it. They don't care about the rest of it. He** many of 'em can't even bother to vote for prez but they are very vocal about their complaints. Not that they are willing to do anything about it. Oh no. Too much trouble. Candidates are not worthy of their time. What a crock of you-know-what! BAH! Humbug. Apologies for the rant Walt but non-voting citizens who majorly kvetch drive me bonkers! If they're not gonna vote they can at least stifle it. Stay out of it. Keep quiet. I think if you don't vote you lose your right to comment. Harsh? If you are bedridden you can still vote by mail. Unless you're in a coma there is no acceptable excuse. :(   Thank you for your reply and for listening and Happy Wednesday!  :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 9, 2017 5:00 AM MDT

A good example of what you're saying was Ferguson, Missouri.

All those people complaining about the police shooting ... which WAS a deplorable act.  But it turns out fewer than 25% of them had bothered voting.  And then they complain they don't feel represented by the local government.

As Red Foreman would say: Dumbasses.

Well, since we have a narcissistic sociopath, an overly or underly confident leader would be a step up the rung of the ladder.  Maybe about 20 steps up, actually.

Everyday.  You know why?  Because he is our President EVERY DAY.

And guess what? No amount of self-righteous batshit craziness on here or anywhere else is going to change that. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at August 9, 2017 7:46 AM MDT

After his making the pussy comment last year and his supporters passing off the President's remarks as lockerroom banter....

    Nothing surprises me anymore.

I haven't checked today yet Shar. Are we at war with North Korea? The braindead dumbhead threatened FIRE AND FURY on Tuesday. In return we were threatened by North Korea with an attack on Guam. Thank you for your reply. What's next? Oy Vey.

And sorry to disappoint you, but as bad as he is, he's shown no propensity toward genocide. Posting a meme like this makes you seem crazier than even he is. Please try to come back to earth.

I like the concept of the arrogance of excellence, but the arrogance that is based on thinking that one is excellent when it it should be obvious that he is a legend only in his own mind is truly dangerous in a so-called leader.
