  • Yes, the Confederacy did lose the war but technically everyone in the entire country lost. The effects of the Civil War can still be felt today. That said, how does it make sense for anyone, "winner" or "loser", to have statues of any kind to venerate anyone at any time? Erecting statues of men, women, children or animals for the purpose of venerating them is a form of idolatry and should be avoided.
