Have you ever applied for adoption but were disallowed on legal grounds?

I wanted to adopt my close friend's son after she passed away (it was her dying wish), but couldn't as I was unmarried. He is now placed with a loving couple.

    No, I have never even attempted it. I think you're noble for having planned to to it. That's classic Neelie, in my opinion.

    No. Laws in the US are stringent, but lax compared to other countries. Anyone can qualify, as long as their home is safe and they are financially stable.
