If you ever have a chance, go for real. If I'm around, I'll give you a little tour.   ;-)

This is from the sculpture park in Oslo, Norway. It's an amazing place. All the sculptures are by a single artist and all are naked.

And all are made of this STONE?  That had to take a lifetime.

The artist designed them, I believe he had some help in executing them. There are over 200 of them and they are larger than life-size.

WOW.  Did you see those statues made of terra cotta that I found?  That is the most amazing thing I have seen sculpture-wise.  It rivals your sculptures what those artists did way back when.

I would love to see this Oslo display and I would love to see more of the terra cottas too.

That's what I THOUGHT but I saw a caption that mentioned GREECE and I was like "What the heck, did they move them to safer grounds or what".

I cannot see how they can transfer that to anywhere else (DUH) but they did move the London bridge brick by brick to Lake Havasu over here.

I LOVE LOVE 'WINGED VICTORY" but don't know how to post photos here.

saw a photo of it when I was in grade school....waaay back in the 1950's and its beauty almost overwhelmed me.

I looked and looked at it.........wow what a masterpiece!!!

so if you don't know, DO look it up online; it's sometimes called "Samothroce's Winged Victory'.........or however it's spelled!!

    great stuff!!!

I don't know how to post stuff, but my very very favorite is WINGED VICTORY, sometimes know as "Samothreces Winged Victory".....

OMG  saw it in a schoolbook when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade and IT FUCKING TOOK MY BREATH AWAY.

I've since tried to get a copy of one, but they are so damn expensive, due to all the sculptural detail.....so now I"m looking for a HUGE poster of it.........hard to find!!!!

you can get posters of just about any dumbass stupid stuff, but a classic work of sculpture???????? think again.........

but I"m gonna keep lookin', damn it!

    LOL

    :-D

I don't know how to post photos..........!!!!!!

but my MOST FAVORITE SCULPTURE IS

    WINGED VICTORY.....

    just look it up online....

first saw it in a textbook when I was in the 4th or 5th grade,,,,,,,,,,,IT TOOK MY  BREATH AWAY &  STILL DOES!!!!!!!

HAVE SEEN reproductions of it, but somehow they never manage to get all the folds in the cloth right; did find one that did, but it was horribly expensive.

have been looking for even a POSTER of it, and so far no luck........but I"ll keep looking!!!!!!!!
