    Oh yeah.

I had a great set of stairs growning up from my room to the first floor of our house and it was carpeted and I would run down them and half the time, slide on my tailbone bump bump bump

I don't fall very often now, but I also don't have a lot of stairs to climb constantly that are carpeted.

Slide on my tailbone? Were you being lazy or did you actually fall down SHar to the Rona. hahahaha I am an expert at falling down and it sounds like you did the later. I could show you how to fall down like a pro some day if you like. Im really good at it. ;D

At first I kept falling over and over.  My tailbone took a knocking.  But then, I just learned to slide.

Much better.  I used the bike for thigh-toning and the stairs for sliding after too many of those falling on my bum episodes.

  • Pouring down rain and freezing cold, I'm delivering newspapers to a set of apartments.  One of the upstairs customer's paper didn't land where I wanted it to, so I went upstairs and moved it. Coming back down stairs, I slipped on the wet stairs and bounced to the bottom on my backside.

The only injury was to my pride.

Yes, missing even 1 step at the bottom can actually cause the most damage.

I just counted the ones in my house---15.  Of course that would vary by design (slope) and height between floors.  Also, from the internet:  "Though codes vary, a good rule of thumb is that stairs must not be continuous for more than 12 vertical feet. At 12 feet, a landing must be introduced. With typical riser heights of 7"3/4 you typically see 16-18 "steps" in a flight of stairs."
