  • You tell everybody that.  I know ... I read all your posts. You might say I'm your most reverent follower.

Hi Rosie ~  One reason might be because your body is lacking that vitamin or need.  Example: Salt.  If you need salt, you crave potato chips or salted peanuts.  You crave things because your body is literally lacking it.
The other reason is because people, for the most part, are gluttons.  They will over-do anything that pleases them a little when given the opportunity.  Moderation isn't an area we excel in.
    As the Grateful Dead said:
"Too much of anything is just enough."

I can't keep dark chocolate-covered orange peel candy in the house. I will eat it all. I mean the real orange peel and not that jelly kinda thing. I do crave salt far more than I crave sweet now that I'm an adult. When I was a kid it was candy I loved. I could hardly wait till I was a grownup because I figured then I could eat all I wanted. Ironic!  A little taste of sweet is all I need. AARRGGHH! Go figger! Thank you for your reply Merlin and Happy Monday! :)

Egads!  It is Monday isn't it?!  Man, talk about being a glutton.  I love what I do but working the insane hours I do may take its' toll.  It doesn't matter what day it is, I'm working!!  I think I've had about 4 hours sleep in the last 3 days.  That is giving me the benefit of the doubt ;)

I hear ya about the dark chocolate-covered orange peel candy.  YUMMMMM!  It's a good thing we live in different towns because between the 2 of us we'd eat any town out in a day!  I LOVE those too.  In fact, anything with dark chocolate is destined to inevitably end up down my gullet and in my stomache... making my taste buds elated along the way!  Giggles.  Happy Monday to you too, my friend.  I'm off to shower to go to work... again.  Big winks and smiles!

Oh my gosh honey you and my Jim would get along so well! He is a DARK CHOCOLATE afficionado! In fact he will not even taste any that isn't dark. I make dark chocolate candy at home. I melt two bars of 85% and one bar of 72% chocolate in the in the microwave. Then I add whatever nuts I have on handy. I LOAD it with nuts. I keep it in a slide-lock bag in the freezer and then when we want some we just get it from there! Whenever I did get the orange peel I'd giv it to Jim to hide and then he would dole it out! Seriously! I guess in many ways we're cut from the same cloth! Thank you for your nifty reply. Oh. It's gonna be about 110 or more in Hemet today. How high will it get in your neck of the woods? :)
