I take the words of others, but never just one other; many others. Where their stories conflict, that is where the gold is buried ;) and there I dig and look close. What I mostlly find there is propaganda and wishful thinking; but also some truth between the lines. Like with you and 'salt and red pepper', between the two of you you tell a lot about what is going on.
Really? I never read that person's stuff because early on I recognized it would be useless, joyless, fruitless and not a rewarding return on my investment. I leave it to others to enjoy those I ignore because I do not enjoy them at all. Thank you for your reply JakobA. We all have different experiences with one another. Your sugar is my poison and quite possibly vice versa. So it goes. That's life! :)
But then, how do you know what may reside on "the other" side if you have never been there? Do you take the word of others? Why?
The arguments change from day to day, his and yours both. You must continously keep track of them to stay any kind of informed, Just dismissing all of any person as "Just hateful" is a waste, he think as well as you or anyone else. Dismissing him with a stereotype harms you more than it harm anyone else.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion JakobA as I am entitled to mine. You have not had MY experience with him so with all due respect you are completely ignorant of what it has been like. As always I appreciate your point of view. I disagree with you completely, totally, absolutely and unequivocally. I think we can survive it, don't you? If not too bad.
