KATRINA: According to the National Hurricane Center, 1,836 fatalities can be attributed to the storm: 1 in Kentucky, 2 each in Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio, 14 in Florida, 238 in Mississippi, and 1,577 in Louisiana.
He's going to be 10 x's more expensive because no one allows for disasters it seems. Now everyone in Texas who is loyal to the GOP can maybe see how important the GOP really is when it comes to having them in your corner. Good luck with that one.
Now that it is Trump's watch? We can only wonder what lies he will tell to make it look like he is saving all of Texas himself.
Now if he was sane? He could actually backpeddle and use this disaster to GET OUT OF BUILDING THE WALL.
He could say to his clueless constituency that he wants everyone to HELP his fellow Americans and the money needs to be used to help our own.
Will he? It would be a GREAT EXCUSE to stop with this wall nonsense and not have to keep addressing it. BUT WILL HE?
NOPE.
He is too STUPID. But he will LIE about it. Wait and see.
After Katrina, the Feds added all my neighbors and myself to a newly drawn 'flood plain'. That means we must have Federal Flood Insurance if we have a mortgage. We have a little creek that flows nearby. Sometimes it overflows and runs up on the roadway. We live over 1000 miles from New Orleans or Texas. I imagine this sort of thing is happening all over the country. Hey, somebody has to pay for Katrina.
That makes zero sense to me bh. A "little creek" that flows nearby isn't ever gonna wipe out your town if it overflows. It might wash your sidewalks or streets. Big deal. I don't get it. I DO GET those who live in precarious places that get flooded out regularly. I think they should have flood insurance, don't you? But a little creek? Seriously? Thank you for your reply. I did not verify the $125 billion number. I just heard it on TV in passing. I think Harvey is gonna be worse than Katrina. I feel so sorry for those whose homes have been ruined. They didn't all have flood insurance so their loss is complete. You know what I wish? In California we have been having a terrible heat wave all week! 112 , 115, 111. Right now it is 90 outside and it's 4 minutes after midnight. Why can't we get some of that rain and send them some of our excessive heat? Dry them out and moisten us up? If they can fly to the moon why can't they figure out how to do weather exchanges? Happy Thursday! :)
