Actually yes, black bear have been known to pass through on occasion.  Also, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunk, possum, woodchucks, fisher cats, ... well, you get the idea.  I actually saw a bobcat run across the road one night, right near my property, when I was driving home a few weeks back.

Once I woke up, didn't have my glasses on and thought I saw black bear. Turned out I just needed a bikini wax.
