Trump visited Bismark, North Dakota to speak about tax reform. Ivanka came with him. Isn't that sweet?

Trump called her up to the stage and told the audience she asked if she could come along. "Daddy can I go with you"? He quoted her verbatim.  I think he should not have shared that. But he did. In the 8 years of President Obama's administration I don't recall doing that with either Malia or Sasha, do you? Did Bill Clinton often do it with Chelsea? How about Nixon and his daughters or LBJ and his daughters or Jimmy Carter and his daughter or Harry S. Truman and his daughter? Did none of then want to go with their daddies to listen to speeches on tax reform in various states?

I don't really remember if that happened when Presidents had grown daughters (unlike Obama, Clinton and Carter). Regardless, I don't understand why it would be wrong for a daughter to be proud of her father and want to accompany him. It makes me wonder about the dynamics in your own family if you think that this is something to be concerned about.

Perhaps she is becoming interested in checking out an inner political curiosity. Maybe she might relocate and run against Nancy Pelosi. It would be an improvement.
