Both sound good. Though I often read in bed for the purpose of putting me to sleep. If I want to stay awake reading, I'll read in my chair by the window.
Any time you have to read is the best time. I read on the bus going to and coming home from work, I read in bed at night before bedtime to make me sleepy, at the airport when I'm waiting to board, at lunchtime in the office while I eat, at the doctor/dentist office when I'm waiting. There is no best time ... just read.
