    We have lots of forest areas lining our river. Many homeless already live there.

    I'd go to a 24-hour AA meeting house.

    That is the best place to connect with the compassionate.   There are always people around that are available to give you resources.  And if no one is around, you can crash on the couches till they get there.

    They helped me many times when I drank in my 20's.

    Yeah,  I went to a detox one time -was boozing a lot and had to stop living in my van,  then I went to a treatment center for the program and give me time to find housing.

    I know of a great campsite that's free and a van with a bed, stove etc.
