Why are celebrities used in ads. Do they think we are going to buy something because Aaron Rogers said it's good.

Also, don't they already have enough money? Aren't they demeaning themselves?

They KNOW you are.  It has been proven that there are sheep for Jesus in every level of advertisment.  You love some movie idol and that idiot tells you to jump off the Empire State Building you will ask which floor?

    And LOVE them for it.

That is the Trump code.  He knows this about his base.

I'm talking about the consumer.  The average consumer.  They feed the pockets of those that serve the mindless.

it's based in pretty simple logic. People idolize celebrities, so when famous people are seen in advertisements promoting a new product, audiences are prompted to buy that product, either subliminally or directly.

I don't follow celebs, but I do lose respect for them. Why don't they ask me to do the ad? I'll do it for half price.

Do they think people are going to buy something because a celebrity endorsed it?

    Three words for you.

    President Donald Trump.

Remember 'Red Rose Tea' commercials from the 60's that had chimpanzees playing in a band?  Well, momma bought some Red Rose Tea, but none of we kids would drink it.

  • "That practice has been going on for a very long time.  It must be making someone some money!"

Through the 1760s, royal endorsements were used as a type of celebrity branding to promote products. The first product that used celebrity endorsements was in the 1760s, where Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, producers of pottery and chinaware, used royal endorsements as a marketing device to show value in the company and promote others their product ("Celebrity Endorsement – Throughout the Ages,"2004).

Well thank goodness for Neil Young. He REFUSED to advertise for anybody. He also wrote a song about it! :)
