What pets did you have when you were growing up?

We had several dogs. I remember some turtles.

simple pleasures...

We had a cocker spaniel named taffy and a cat named Sam.  Sam had kittens so we changed him to Samantha.  She was mentally ill and climbed the drapes during the night.  That's what I remember about her.  I had a couple of turtles and I don't remember much about them.  There was a birdcage in the den that infrequently housed a bird.  That's about it.
