Not really Rosie.....I think it's appalling how the English of old have stolen countries from around the globe from the indiginous people that lived there......

There appear to be two laws when it comes to stealing from others......The mightiest countries can take whatever they wish including countries as large as Australia ,America and so many others and  from the weak and uneducated.......yet as individuals  no person is allowed to take one cent from the rich and powerful ....

America's history is blackhearted and cruel NJ. Savage as it were. Taking land from those who were here long before they arrived. Killing them. Vicious. Making promises to Native Americans. Signing treaties. Then ignoring them completely. I totally agree with you. It is disgusting how venal and evil and selfish and greedy people can be at their very worst. Why is it that the very worst are the ones who so often get into power? I don't get it. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)

It's only the worst that are prepared to stoop the lowest to to reap the highest gains ....All the biggest countries  strip the fish from the oceans and care very little for the effects it will have in the years to come.....
Do any humans have the right to do such things .....
The great Whales were taken to the brink of extinction by the English.......and still Norway and the Jappanese persist in committing such attrocties ...
Anyone who knowingly kills whales with exception of Inuits and tiny communities  that have hunted them for centuries front canoes should all suffer the death penalty .....only then will it stop fully

You are cognizant of and involved in a lot more issues than I realized sweetie. I am sincerely and honestly impressed. I agree that humans don't have the right but when did that ever stop any human  being from taking or doing what he wanted? I'm gonna ask that question and attribute it to you for the inspiration but not name you. They do it for money. That justifies anything to such people. If there is money in it they will do it no matter how obscene or cruel or evil. Money is their everything . Thank you for your thoughtful reply NJ. You go girl!  :) ((hugs))

As kids we were forced by our parents to watch David Attenbourgh wild life programmes on tv mostly Sunday afternoon after dinner.....we were also encouraged to watch all types of wild life programmes and often taken to local forests and farms .....Epping Forest was sbout 15 miles from us..

I /we watch Friends reruns and the Big Bang but little other US  programmes.......they are all far to violent and pathetic story lines that rely on to much computer generated special effects ....

mostly  I watch documentaries  or things of real value....true.facts amaze me and also disgust me.......

Blair the old English prime Minister made me cringe with disgust at his attrocties ....yet he still roams about free.....strangly he chooses to live in an area of London where mega rich Arabs live so need constant armed guards to protect him night and day......

Him and the thing it married are part of the world true parisites........multi multi millionaires and appalling role models  This post was edited by Nice Jugs at September 23, 2017 10:35 AM MDT

You are a revelation to me NJ. How many years have we been chatting starting with Answerbag years ago? I had no  idea of your depth and width and breadth as a human being. I guess we never got into any subjects that caught your fancy. I'm happily stunned.  Wasn't Attenborough knighted? Isn't he SIR? Anyway I LOVE documentaries as well and his especially. When the world is just too much to bear we escape to TCM..Turner Classic Movies. No interruptions for commercials or BREAKING NEWS. Old movies are a great escape. Also TVland where old series like The Andy Griffith Show (don't know if you ever saw it) are still being run. I love the History channel although sometimes some of the stuff on it is less than stellar. You are very articulate and lively in your descriptions of things and people which I very much appreciate. I think you  know I am in love with words. I just had to giggle.."him and the thing it married..."! I mean that is seriously funny though also serious. Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply NJ. It's fun and informative talking to you. That's one of the MAIN reasons I keep showing up every day. Just on the chance that someone like you will take the time to educate me about what I don't know. There is so much I wish I knew and don't. Slowly by slowly..step by step..every day in every way I'm learning a little bit more! ((hugs)) This post was edited by RosieG at September 23, 2017 7:21 AM MDT

You were one of the first persons to speak to me on AB back in April 2009 I think Rosie.....I think I was only just turned 21 and such a novice ....also a bit scared of talking on the Internet ....

None of us know who we are talking to or what we are actually like......only time will tell with persistence of one dedication to sensible things......lol

I don't think David would care if he was knighted or not.....I don't think I would ever want such a thing bestowed on me.....Id like to think I'm happy as I am at the moment.....lol

I actually met one AB'er who lived quite near me in London .....we see quite a lot of each other actually...

I love old films ....so many have such great stories and many so many brilliantly acted.....

    Random Harvest.
    Casablanca
    Wonderful Life
    Captains Courageous.
    The Afrcain Queen....
    How Green Was My Valley.
    The Quiet Man

So many brilliant films.......mostly all old

One I know you will love and it's not that old is called ( A Shine of Rainbows) ......it's set in Ireland and has a Danish actress called Connie Nielsen  playing the main role......it's a wonderful film I know you'd both love watching....

The thing it married is a human rights queens council (QC) ....( lawyer /barrister ) actual parisites that charges millions for her services........she's also the ugliest women I've ever seen.....I cringe when I hear her name......
On a far different note I read  yesterday that Mr Trump married a Porn Star......and he still got elected....hehe
My favourite book is a dictionary and thesaurus......Ive found you can put people in thier place far easier verbally if you know bigger words and their meaning than if you just bash'em .....
I love to ridicule  so called deserving  toffs without them realizing ....lol
Ii seem to store so many things in my head and can only recall them when certain subjects are mentioned...
Your questions seem to stimulate my thoughts and it all comes flooding back in milliseconds.....lol This post was edited by Nice Jugs at September 23, 2017 10:36 AM MDT

We're cut from the same cloth in many respects NJ. I always have a dictionary open on a table  close by so I can look up words with which I am unfamiliar. I have misplaced my thesaurus(it might be in a box in the garage) but the dictionary does give you synonyms and antonyms if you read every word. The movies you mentioned I ADORE except for The Quiet Life with which I am unfamiiliar.. I have not heard of the movie you mentioned but I will seek it out. I have had a crush on Humphrey Bogart since I was 3 years old. He is my favorite movie actor.  I love rainbows and unicorns so the title alone appeals to me. As for Melania I think she did pose for very risque things. She may have been an "escort". But the folks who voted for  Trump adore him and everything about him. So whatever she is or was or will be doesn't matter to them. It is the most astonishing thing I have witnessed in my long life. People electing to the presidency a person so devoid of character, morals, integrity, honesty. Go figger! I didn't realize I was among the first  to talk with you when you came on board Answerbag. I'm glad you have good memories. I had no idea that you remembered me from that long ago. That's very nice. We are all onions and have many layers.  Some of us refuse to peel any off so you never get to know what's there. With some folks the more you know the less you like. For some the exact opposite is true.  The more you know about them the more you like them. It is for those people I am most thankful.Thank you for your thoughtful and really informatively lovely reply NJ. I will not soon forget this day. Lots of layers of onion stripped away! It gets better! :)

Yes, Rosie Jet packer was one of the first that spoke to me on AB......    It was a relief and as a newbie felt quite isolated and never taken seriously ..... Quite rightly so ......to answer questions that others had commented on felt somewhat of me intruding on their conversation....
As for Melania we can all look back and regret some of the things we did when we were younger....

I meant to write ( The Quiet Man ) with John Wayne .......auto correct plays havoc with my spelling and changes words after I've looked at them.....:(
i joined AB on the first of April 2009 ....I felt such an achievement joining......my spelling was awful ....and I was a one finger typist.....I have a touch screen tablet and type with both thumbs now.....lol.    It's 100 % quicker ...  Lol

My dads friend was a camera man and knew Robert Mitchem ......he said he was such a nice guy that hung out with the crew....he also said nice things about Julia Roberts........

I think our Presidents/Prime Minesters are just front men to the Millitary and rich Industrialist/bankers that control the courts and just about every other organization......

There must be another unknown group of people running things .....Bush junior hadn't a clue of what to do when 9/11 took place......he was bemused like a child and made an absolute fool of himself on national TV......I can remember watching him and thinking OMG.....
Now we have another problem with North Korea .......every country in the world should get together and smack his arse ......it's a global crisis / problem as an unfortunate outcome will effect every living thing ....

If I were to say something that wasn't nice about you I would be lying and I don't so no worries there. Also if I said anything negative I'd probably get banned or chastised or shunned. Worry not m'dear. You're safe with me!  :)

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! I do have a mouth and I do know a few choice words my friend. I am very capable of defending myself against all comers but why waste the time on them? I'd so much rather invest my time with folks like you than waste a word or moment on them. You're a funnee hunnee bunnee! My cuppa tea. Thank you for the giggles. Laughing makes a body feel good!

I believe we should take care of our country first. That is the job of our leaders....and the job of other countries leaders to do the same for their countries.

That is inane.  I am PART of the world.  That is like trying to keep my body cancer-free but only taking care of my head and not the rest of the body.

We are all connected.  What happens to my country affects the world and vice-versa.
