I would blame the bacteria for failing to do the job they were designed for. People would have to bring samples to court to give evidence for the judge to decide...

There wasn't a problem with the bacteria in Dannon. It was a consumer perception problem. They expected it to be a cure-all, and Dannon didn't represent the science well. They might have been able to get away with it if thy had said something like, "We include X Bacteria because some studies suggest that..." Instead, they basically said, "It can help your immune system and solve digestive issues." While true, the marketing presented it as a cure and it wasn't a medicine.
If you tried to sell anything, you'd get sued for some reason. Somebody would complain that their poop didn't smell good enough. Someone would eat theirs because it would smell too good, and they'd get sick and sue you. lol
It is called a clean diet and has been around since way before pesticides, hormone additives and all that chemical junk in the form of preservatives, is added to your food.
We forgot how to combine food. That is the only thing you need to do.
Plenty of water. Plenty of fresh fruit. Plenty of salad. No meat, no fish, no chicken no animal.
Use proteins. But combine them with vegetables and not bread.
Things like that? You never have to use air freshener.
My poo don't smell if I do this. But I take a lot of vitamins now and I also cheat and eat fish. But I have eliminated that stuff and have gotten the best results.
The main downside would be people getting sick because poop contain lots of bacteria from the person or animal that produced the pop.
PS: that is also why our noses tells us poop stinks. People whose noses did not tell them that have gone extinct by now.
