Do you think nudity should be allowed in PG-13 movies?

I was watching a movie called Limitless and I was appalled when I saw a scene of the main character having sex and they showed a woman topless during the scene. In my head, I was thinking "Oh my god how could they do this?!" I posted this question on SW and I got flack for it. I'm sorry but I think it's just wrong....

    No, I don't. Most of the language allowed in PG13 movies is getting ridiculous as well.

  • Agreed. I was surprised when they allowed F-bombs multiple times in some PG-13 rated movies. I don't remember it ever being like that.

    Yep. I don't even bother with movies anymore. We rented one not long ago (PG-13) and only got about 10 minutes in it and turned it off. The language was horrible. We wait until it comes on regular tv and we still have curse filter.

    No.  Why even have ratings?  Who takes their 13 year old to movies with sex and nudity?  The sad thing is the system is corrupt.  For years now movie makers would put in just enough to get an R rating and now it seems something,  perhaps money, is working on getting the shit into the kids' movies.  I just don't do it.  I don't go to movies.  They don't make money because I ever see a movie.  I wish society would stop being "managed," even micromanaged without even knowing it.  We make people go to school for 13 years of their lives and we still have a country full of nitwits.

    No, but it's my understanding that they gather a group of parents and let them decide. So, maybe that particular group was really lenient. That shouldn't be in a PG-13 movie, in my opinion, though. I wouldn't let my kids watch it.

    Nudity yes, sex (or simulated sex) no. There is nothing even remotely offensive about the human form, if the inclusion of nudity is tasteful, relevant and NOT sexualized. I'd rather my children see that than the gratuitous violence that seems to be okay even in some G rated movies.   • Not all cartoons are meant for kids. I never heard of watership down until I got on YouTube.

  • It's my understanding that a sex scene immediately causes a movie to be rated R (or should be). It's possible that nipples might be shown in a PG-13 movie (which I personally don't have a problem with), but not a sex scene. That should be reserved for R.   • It was both a sex scene and a nude scene, either way, I disagree there's  certain movies for that kind of stuff anyway.

    They should not have rated it PG - 13.   But PG means parental guidance.  I guess they think if you are 13 you can handle reality.

    I think you are right to be confused though as to what is considered correct viewing for a kid your age.  I think you have a good head on your shoulders.  Most kids would not even notice that.

    No, absolutely not. Not even if if it was the middle of summer and the theatre's AC was broken down. That would be too distracting from the movie for the rest of the patrons. And it could ultimately mess up the seats in the theatre.

    No it should not. But I don't like seeing sex or nudity no matter what the rating is.
    If parents are sending their kids  to see a PG-13 movie alone, they need to check it out first before letting them go.
