    live by myself
    so no one to accuse me
    but I do use the paper towels
    that tears off in smaller sections.

    They're mine; I'll use them as I please.  I actually use very few; I use towels in the kitchen and fabric napkins for meals.

    Yes.  I like them. When British Air bankrupted they practically gave away everything in the warehouse including First Class fabric napkins (red tartan plaid).  I bought about a hundred of them and have been using them for all sorts of things ever since.  It's not a foo foo thing, just my preference.
