    Generators do not run on batteries. That would be like having a solar powered flashlight. They need a source of fuel to run them and they will last as long as their fuel does.

    Did you know 'ginsu' means sharp in Japanese? Really. It was an accident that Ronco named them that.

  • Well sorta.   Some types of generator designs,  the alternator in your car for example,  need some electrical imput from the battery in order for them to generate added electrical current when they are cranked.

    True...I hadn't thought of that. Hmm...maybe a solar powered or wind generator powered car.

     Thank you for your reply Ele. So the lack of gasollne in Puerto Rico is DEADLY serious. It isn't used just for autos but to keep generators running so hospitals can keep people alive. Wow. What a terrible time the poor folks in Puerto Rico are having. :(
