With" friends" when your nose gets bent out of shape do you bail or do you hang in? Why?

You're never gonna get to be a long-time pal if you bail every time you get in conflict. That why long-time friends are best. They may back off for awhile if things get  a little iffy but they don't leave. Is it a function of character or whim that differentiates the types? Of course a new friend can always become a long-time friend and sometimes they do. Are you a long or short hauler? Why?
