Or perhaps you think that an entire political "junket" trip should be made to get in the way of rescue and clean-up efforts. We could load a couple of planes with the President's cabinet members and a bunch of high-ranking members of Congress and send them down there for look. Why, it could delay the clean-up efforts for a couple of weeks!
But back to Dr. Carson . . . your keen observation is correct. Dr, Carson is Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Which means he has no need to go to Puerto Rico. FEMA is dealing with that at the Federal level right now and they fall under DHS, not HUD.That agency is headed up temporarily by Elaine C Duke and she has been there. (And again, unless she donned boots and gloves and all we could see was her elbows and backside there's no reason for her to be there.)
