My heart goes out to the people in Northern Calif. 35 dead and many still missing.

Fire still not contained and so many homes lost.
This is so tragic.

  • It's been pretty awful. Wine Country is burning down. The air has been so foul the school I work at canceled classes the past couple of days. I know people who've lost their homes too.

That is awful. I hope you are not near the fire.
Our air quality is bad here in Southern Ca. as well.
The smoke is being blown everywhere.

So sorry for you and people who have suffered damage.  I don't remember ever hearing of so many killed and injured.  When I looked at the report it seemed like many of the deceased were elderly.  Do you know if a nursing home burned or any idea why so many elderly.  Maybe it was just a neighborhood of retirees.  The air quality was watched very closely watched last night at the WSU/Cal ballgame.  They didn't have to actually stop it though.  Stay safe. • There was a nursing home that burned in Santa Rosa. In one case, the employees fled leaving the residents there (they claimed they were told others were coming to help, though the police denied this). In other cases, the elderly might be immobile or unable to leave in time. It's pretty sad.

    The worst in history
So many people wiped out completely
    Fires still not contained
Here in SF the air has been so foul with ashes falling, sky overcast with smoke.
Today is the first day in awhile that is clear because
    of the wind shifting.
For sure my heart goes out to all
    that has been affected
    such a disaster.

It's an unimaginable landscape - this is probably what the apocalypse would look like.  I feel awful for all those suffering, those that have lost their lives, those who are still missing.  Material things can be replaced, for the most part, but lives lost are gone forever.  Wildfires, hurricanes, drought, earthquakes - it's almost as though the earth is erupting.  Mother Nature must be very angry with us.

Like they say, when it rains it pours.
And there is so much all at the same time and more to come.
