Discussion»Questions»Life and Society» If you learned that your conduct negatively impacts a high percentage of others (on a Q&A website, for example), would you change it?
Yes but only if it is explained why they feel upset and their reasons are reasonable, I am quite sure I have upset a few here over religion but until they can explain why religion should not be criticized, then it is their problem, not mine.
I say a lot of things that are obnoxious but, if I thought I said something that might really hurt a number of people on here, I would change my conduct. I don't have any interest in abusing people I don't know. I have enough people in RL I do that with, and find a great deal of satisfaction in.
NO one PURPOSELY does this. Did you ever have a job where you did NOT like everyone? Something tells me this is not an isolated event only happening to me.
I was thinking in terms of the example I gave in this question. I wouldn't be a member of a site, such as this, if I felt I was surrounded by a sea of idiots. If I wanted that experience, I'd go over to Similar Worlds.
Luckily, I've never felt completely surrounded by a sea of idiots at any job I've worked. I've had co-workers who I didn't like, and more than a few who weren't terribly bright. Even so, if I learned that the manner in which I conducted myself negatively impacted a large number of my co-workers, I am considerate enough of others to attempt to change my behavior/conduct.
