If your friends criticize you a lot why are they your friends? Do you let them tout you and shape you and change you? Why?

    They are  friends if you feel that they are sincere in their criticisms, leading to an appropriate change of life. However, there must be a limitation, not too much.

    Thank you for your reply Blessedwoman. I guess each of us has different requirements/expectations about everyone and everything. What works for me might not work for you and vice-versa!  And so it goes. :)

    I think we are naturally going to be shaped and changed by the company we keep.  We get together with people usually because we have something in common with them. But they have their own lives and own values which might lead them to criticize us.  Or from just orneryiness.  Maybe why I don't have many friends at my age.
