Pollution was linked to 9 million deaths worldwide in 2015 . Of course humans are not to blame, right? What is?

According to the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation AND The Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health the sources are air, water, soil, chemical or occupational. Following is the breakdown:

6.5 million due to air pollution
1.8 million due to water pollution
  .8 million due to workplace pollution
