Unlike the Inhumans, who escaped Mars after they destroyed it, the Chosen People lived in Atlantis and cross bread with the Martians. So I guess they are related to each other, half male half female brains turning into one. We now call them humans. This accounts for our reptilian brain, small as it is, wasn't there when we were a fully Chosen People. ;P
