An enormous one.  All the Federal government is supposed to do is handle foreign affairs, raise an army, mint money, and keep the citizenry safe.  Look how it has failed in all four, yet is about 1000 times the size it needs to be.

I don't know. I have seen some horrendous diets in Russia.

(you know I get there so OFTEN I'm going again on the 12th of Never)

    Fat Russians...how come so many?

    YAHOO ANSWERS
When I went to some Russian ports with my ship I noticed the only things they weren't short of was Vodka and people with tonnage in tow.
Fat people and shortages don't seem very compatible, you can't blame MacDonald's.

Could it be we are wrong about the causes of western obesity after all?
Update: ...most meat in Russia seems to be those nauseating pink sausages. .

Yup, but it's not the only place in the world with a weight problem though.

The statistics on obesity would suggest the USA does have a problem relative to the rest of the world, especially in the male population.

Although, as shown in the maps in the link and other published works, it appears much of the world is "catching up" with the USA.
