Geez Ele! Couldja translate that for me please? I was gonna call you a "showoff" but then I thought that would be unfair since I did ask! Right?  How do you "talk" in Russian on the keyboard? You have various letters in various languages? Can you reply in Chinese or Japanese or Arabic? Thank you for your reply. Good to know you're already covered. SIGH. :)

I AM OFFICIALLY IMPRESSED Ele! I have never known  anyone who spoke Russian. I mean I know about borscht with sour cream and gulags and Siberia and Nyet but that's about it. Why did you take Russian? Were you planning to be an interpreter? Is it a very difficult language to learn? Geez I'm still reeling that YOU know some Russian. I don't care if it was 50 years ago (No offense..I have no idea how old you are!). Thanks for the share. Whoa! I studied it because my grandfather was from The Ukraine. He spoke five languages: Russian, Hebrew, German, Polish and English. My one great disappointment in life is that I never got to meet him. I found the language to be reasonably easy; the professor said he had never had a student who learned it so fast...with the accent. That was about 35 years ago and I still remember a bit of it. I can read it easily but must look up the meanings of the words. I am 66 and not offended at all...especially when I get to brag a bit.

You're a youngster still to me Ele. I am now 80! Can you believe it? I can't! Anyway I took French in high school and my teacher would ask me to read in class because my pronunciation was very good and his sucked. He said I had a "facile uvula". I had to look up "uvula". Anyway he said that's why my pronunciation was spot on and he had such a hard time. I guess his uvula wasn't "facile". Imagine that! A teacher who taught a language he couldn't pronounce accurately! My dad spoke Armenian, Turkish, Greek and then learned English when he and the family came to America. Have you ever visited the Ukraine Ele? I have never been there. I have a written record of my maternal grandmother's family history dating back to the 1880's starting in Russia. All I know about my grandfather is what my mother told me and his part of the family history starts when he married my grandmother. 

That is so awesome Ele! At least you have that. I wasn't smart enough to ask questions  of my grandparents or my parents for that matter. I know nothing about my great grandparents. You know what they say. Too soon old. Too late schmart. Well it's true for me and there will never ever be a do-over. I have little to pass on to my son. Maybe if there is a next time I'll do better, be smarter, figure things out ahead of the fact rather than retroactively when it's too late!  :(! Thank you for your reply! :)
