Some people can remember things that happened to them when they were very young while others can't. Does memory exist from the womb?

If so do we carry it forward with us into our after-birth lives? Maybe loud noises heard in the womb cause is to be very jumpy when we hear loud noises as we grow up. Maybe a sudden fear from something translates to fear in the world that we cannot explain. Is that possible?
