Allegedly a photo was taken of one of the Obama girls smoking. Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump came to her defense. Why?

Once someone runs for political office he/she drags the entire family into the spotlight. They may not like it but that's what happens. There is NO EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY once you are in the spotlight. So why should anyone be exempted from the publicity of being whom they are, doing whatever it is they are doing? The politician(s) should have thought of that before running for office. That's part of the crap they inflict upon their families. Isn't it ?

Why? Because the children should not be drug into the spotlight. They did not run for office, their parent did. Leave the kids alone.
I do hope she is not smoking as it is bad for her health.

  • Someone needs to send tha memo to the people in Hollywood who complain.  Still, leave the kids alone for crying out loud.

As long as people like you want to hear about this kind of gossip and repeat it, then it will continue.  Most people with an actual life of their own would not consider this newsworthy or even mildly interesting.

Your answer begs another question...Why the hell are we even discussing it here? I have wasted five minutes of my life.

"Shallow-minded usually means that a person doesn't think much beyond superficialities and surface meaning." Like grammar and spelling...

Gee, you really let it get to you, don't you?  Perhaps you should see someone for that, a liscensed professional in the mental health field. May I suggest a millenial fresh out of psychiatry school?

I don't capitalize it because when I use the term, I do so in the general sense, not on the specific group sense. I do the exact same thing with the word 'internet'.  I don't want to give either more credence than is deserved.
      Thank you for your concern.

The point I'm making is that a person goes into politics. Should the rest of the family be exempt from being commented upon? Remember Jimmy Carter's daughter? Remember way back when Margaret Truman got roasted for her singing? Remember all the members of the Kennedy family? Remember Billy Carter? You marry someone you are also marrying the family. You go into politics and your family goes with you. Part of the territory. I know Obama used to light up and maybe still does when Michelle isn't around.  So you didn't answer the question. Should the family of pols be off-limits/exempt from scrutiny? Why? And I did not force you to repond Ele. You didn't have to show up here. Why did you?

Who cares why.   I mean not to be snotty-sounding here.  Just that this is not a big issue, or it shouldn't be news.

    They didn't judge her.
But they did it for entirely different reasons.

I really admire Chelsea.   So maybe I am slanted here.  But she keeps her nose to the grindstone and does not cause controversy and tries to be a good citizen.  She speaks her mind and she speaks it eloquently.

The other one who defends daddy, not so much.  I think she knows how to be politically correct when the moments arise.  And for Ivanka, the moments keep on coming.
