I think that the most ironic part of all of this is that we are brainwashed into believing that servicemen/women are off in foreign countries fighting for "The American Way"... protecting our freedoms.
There are a good number of veterans who are wise enough to recognize that this taking a knee is an exact example of the kind of freedom they signed up to protect, and take no offense to it and even join the effort.
